Ribeiro is the oldest designation of origin in Galicia (1932) and one of the five designations of origin for Galician wines.
Its production area covers a specific area of the province of Orense, located at the confluence of the valleys of Miño, Avia, Arnoia and Barbantiño rivers.
The designation of Origin Ribeiro is made from different grape varieties: treixadura, torrontés, palomino, godello, macabeo, loureiro and albariño for white wine; caíño, alicante, sousón, ferrón, mencía, tempranillo and brancellao for red wine.
